I'm getting a new graphics card soon, the X1600, but now that DX10 cards are coming out is it worth waiting for them or not do you guys reckon???

Depends. In my case, I upgraded to a midline ATI X1600 256 mb (cost me under $100) but that was becasue I had mutliple graphics cards fail. My next card will be a DX10 card for sure.

Yes wait for DX10, if your current card won't let you play any games go with the classics untill DX10 comes out.

Classics as in emulators, Dooms (Chexquest lol) Quakes, etc.

to be honest i'd stay away from the TOP technology. usually it's quite bugged when it's released not to mention the "funny" price-tag.
with the release of cards like GF7950 the single core cards like GF7900 quickly loose value.... already the card which i bought 4 months ago worth HALF of what i payed for it... but it stick rocks :D
with abit of overclocking managed to get my BF7900GT OC to 1850mhz memory clock :P havent pushed core too far but 600mhz is easily obtainable.
