Im trying to use the following keys in game:
SHIFT (for walk) UP and RIGHT arrow. I go forward but not right, Ive heard other people having this so Im guessing its either a driver problem of fault with the keyboard?
However if I press SHIFT (for walk) UP and LEFT arrow it works fine?!
This has never happened to any other keyboard I have owned and Im going to return it if there are no solutions?
Please can anyone help?
Regards

Maybe this should be a sticky issue or in FAQ so poeple stop asking.
To answer yours:
This appears to be a problem with all the G15 keyboards. There is no known solution as of yet.

It has to do with the key matrix and the keyboard controller chip.
At the time when a Pentium1 was hot stuff almost every single PS/2-keyboard had this problem, except the really expensive IBM and Cherry pro-line keyboards. Thatīs because either their keys were all wired directly to the controller via separate address lines (very very rare) or they had a clever and complex key-matrix which still needed a controller with a lot of input lines.
You see, you donīt actually have one-hundred-and-so wires connecting the keys with an interface chip. Thereīs a keyboard matrix underneath the keys that produces a combination of signals for each keystroke, the combination will be different for different keypresses.
Now, in this case, shift+up is being sent on all the lines that would be used by the right arrow key, therefore when this key is being pressed in combination with the other two, itīs signal doesnīt reach the keyboard processor because there is already an input signal on the corresponding port. With a different layout, you would have other combinations that wouldnīt work, but maybe you wouldnīt ever notice them.
Anyway, Logitech probably wanted to make sure that the G-Keys will always respond (though Iīm not sure if theyīre not routed through another controller anyway), so they went sloppy on the cursor keys. Especially since a vast majority of gamers use WASD.
it's a real pain in the ass from a gaming keyboard though. i've had to learn wsad and it's been frustrating at times. i actually called them and the kb is designed for 6 alpha-numeric keypresses at once. the only thing excluded was those 4 arrows. i would have preferred 5 keypresses at once and working arrows as i don't have six fingers on my left hand and my right hand rarely strays from the mouse.
what really gets me is that most people use the arrows for driving games still. space (default handbrake) thankfully seems to work with all the arrows at once but if you use shift or ctrl for anything you're screwed as well.
edit - oh yea. when i called the guy called their support head office to talk with a higher up guy and when he came back he said they weren't aware of the problem and it's one not likely fixed with a driver or firmware update. i asked about a rev. 2 of the keyboard with working arrows and he said it's not likely but he assured me that if i was on the mailing list i'd be the first to know. i have yet to receive any e-mails from logitech so i'm thinking he didn't add me right as it's been nearly 3 weeks.

Hi,
probably I have not understand, but I have done this test.
Configured in game (GTA SA)
SHIFT to walk and I have used the arrows to play, and press shift + one of any arrows direction.
Then shift + up + right and so on to test all of 4 diagonals but works perfectly, i have not understand the problem :(
I have also tested a car games, using hte arrows to guide and alternate the key shift e ctrs for, gears, nitro and handbrake but work.
May be I have not understand the problem.

I am having this same issue as well. I cannot run forward and strafe simultaneously with the UP, RIGHT, and RIGHT SHIFT keys. Seeing as how the G15 is a gaming keyboard, I find this lack of functionality very frustrating and frankly surprising. I really like the look and feel of this keyboard, but I'm seriously contemplating getting a new keyboard if they can't resolve this issue with a firmware/driver update - it just interferes too much with gaming controls, which is 90% of what this keyboard is used for.

I went on to do some testing with my G15 yesterday. I could not reproduce the problem when using the left shift key, and I cannot cramp my hand in such a way that it would be comfortable to use the right shift key together with the arrow keys. Do you have 6 or more fingers at each hand?
Seriously, I wasnīt able to find any key combination that didnīt work by now. As iīm using WSAD except in racing/Jumpīnīrun games I probably wonīt encounter any problems anyway. There are some other problems though, but they are macro-related and more on the software side.
well it's the right shift key that's the problem so i'm not sure the left shift key would recreate it. for me its the right shift and ctrl keys as those are the ones i mainly use. the test is holding up, right and then pressing shift. that shift press won't work. i tested in an old game gta2 and i used right shift as handbrake and for sure it happens. i used to experience this with old keyboards when i originally played the game and used space as handbrake.
cramp my hand?? just put your middle finger on the middle arrow and use your pinky for shift, ctrl and enter. that's what i do. there's no cramping involved. if anything it's stretching. i use my right hand on the mouse. i reach over with my index finger to press ins and end on the num pad. i've heard the ins button also has these problems but i was too frustrated ducking and jump with ctrl and shift to bother testing further. i've just learned wsad now.

In all the games I have played in the last six months, (around 20 of the newer games), I had never ran into having to use the arrow keys, except for the NFS:MW Demo, for some reason it used the Arrow keys, anyways. I am so used to WSAD that even if a game came out that used the arrow keys, I would definitely change it to WSAD, hence never needing the arrow keys. Besides I would like to steer a car or character with my WSAD and control the camera with my mouse. Its kinda like riding a bike :? , once you do it that way, you will most likely want to stay that way.
^^^all of the above is in my opinion, and my honest opinion only, enjoy!!! :D
P.S. On that note though, it does suck that they left out the arrow keys, and should most likely pe punished for that.
this comming from an FFXI gamer:
I use the # pad for walking 8,2,4,6
and then the Arrow keys are used for camera angle change
I can use bolth lets say 8 and 6 to move foward right, and press up arrow and right arrow to move the camera. - works fine
another odd thing
there are already ingame macros, set to Alt+# and Ctrl+#
I can be running foward, 8, and press Ctrl+# macros, that work fine. but while running foward an Alt+# macro will not work. it brings up the pallate, but wol'nt excute the '4'
-just another random rant
