I have tried everything and the Keyboard will not show any cpu usage. The bar for cpu stays at what would be 0% usage. The Ram graph will bounce around depending obviously on things loading and so on. I have uninstalled/reinstalled rebooted many times. I would consider myself an advanced pc user (network security consultant) and have gone through normal troubleshooting measures. Specs are Asus A8N, AMD Venice core 3500 oced to 2.8ghz clock speed from 2.0. Only thing i havent tried is reducing my oc to stock. The program logitech uses taps the process manager for cpu usage stats and therefore should not be affected by clock speed. Lastly the cpu shows correctly in task manager...

Help would be greatly appreciated

Not sure of how to fix your problem, but a very nice overclock nonetheless!

There was a thread on the (drrrrrrrrrrreadfully slow) Logitech forums about exactly that. I have no idea how you get into that situation, but have a look whether this applies to yoru situation?

After reading your posts I checked the links you submitted and found the solution. To anyone else with the problem the reason cpu stats will not show is due to performance counters being disabled. I run a program called xp smoker which gets rid of bloatware and useless services that come with Windows XP. I had checked performance counters to be disabled which apparently stops the logging of cpu usage. I didnt think that it would be an issue because everything displays correctly in task manager. I was very wrong about that thought process and since turing on performance counters everything is working well.

I wanted to thank Noodle for the links to solve the problem and hope that maybe I can help someone else out in the future.

Thank you very much for that info. It was the second link that helped me out. I was fiddling around with my virtual memory and then the CPU usage stopped showing on the LCD screen. That article showed what registry keys needed to be altered to redisplay them and it worked perfectly.

Thank you again for your help.

Actually I should say thanks too, your last link fixed my problem, as i also had moved my virtual memory and have nothing showing.

This should be a sticky.

I just thought this should be added.
If you're still having problems after you've already set the "Disable Performance Counters" to 0, then try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300956/EN-US/

It worked for me. I just had to completely rebuild the performance counters altogether. Good luck!

XP Smoker eh? Just checked their website and I might have to give that free trial a whirl. ANYTHING to squeeze a little more performance out of this beast...

I went to the registry, and disable performance counter line is not there. Now what?

I'm using XP Pro x64, so the above microsoft fix for NT2000 series is not quite applicable to me.

My virtual memory is set to OS control, so should be no problems there. Task manager is showing both cpu processes fine. (P4 Hyperthread, model 640)

I am using the ASUS P5N32-SLI deluxe mobo with just a little oc. (830fsb instead of 800, 101% pci-e bus speed) If it matters, the rest of the system is 2G corsair DDR2 5400 (512x4), eVGA 7800GT (only 1 for now), dual 37G Raptors, 20.1" Dell LCD, Logitech MX 700 mouse.

I've really been looking forward to being able to track my cpu in realtime while gaming (DAoC, EQ2), so I'm bummed its glitched right now. Thanx in advance for the help guys.
