Just asking who hates what computer stores. I have listed mine:
1. CompUSA - I will pretty much never buy from them again except to use a giftcard someone gave me (If I can't pawn it off to someone else). They are horribly overpriced, usually have horrible/incompitent assistance, misserable return policy, and use ads to drag people into store to sell them everything but.
2. Tiger Direct - Out of two orders placed with them; they have screwed up 100% of the time. First, they overcharged for a drive and then tried to slip it in as OEM so we didn't get the cable (that went right back). Another time (just before the year 2000) they added a $20 Y2K disk onto the bill without authorization (believe me, I had NO y2k fear and would NEVER have authorized it). Also on my never buy from again list.
3. BestBuy - I will still shop there, but limited. They have better customer service but they like to play a lot of games with their stuff. They keep a good supply, but are still usually overpriced. Any time they can play a game to squeeze more out of a customer, they will.
On my good list:
1 and only: NewEgg. They have best prices even after shopping around other small stores. There shipping prices can be a bit steep, but with prices and shipping combined they still beat any walkin store. They have a desent return policy (30 days but they do like their "restocking" fee) and are great for defective items. They carry everything. The only thing they seem overpriced on are processors and mainboards. I really don't have a bad experience with them that I can list.
